It was our third day living in this house, I have made no friends yet, talked to one person, and school starts tomorrow. I hadn’t worked our for about week and I was worried I wouldn’t make the cross country team. Cross country is my life, I needed to make the team.
I had seen a really big park a couple blocks from where I lived, and measured it out to be about a mile and half a lap. I decided to go run over there. But first I did one of my cardio workouts that I got on dvd, it always gets me warmed up and ready to run. I walked over and was ready to do two laps. I started off with a quick pace and I was starting to feel good. I let my mind wander, I’ve always hated being the new kid. Of course when you’re younger, kids are nice but its hard to get accepted when you’re my age. Everyone already has had their best friend. I’ve always wanted a best friend, unlike most girls who want a boyfriend. But I want a girl who I could tell all my secrets and feelings to and she would do the same. A boy just breaks your heart.
About halfway through my first lap, I saw a familiar face. It was that guy who talked to me on the first day we moved here, Daniel. He smiled at me when he recognized me. I smiled back and when he passed I looked down at what I was wearing. I was wearing a nike tank with matching shorts and nike shoes. I could have been on a commercial for nike. My hair was pulled back into a bun and my bangs clipped out of my face that had no makeup on. And I knew my cheeks had to flushed.
My thoughts strayed to him. He was a cuties and had an adorable laugh. He seemed really nice. I shook my head, most good guys are already taken. I was prepared to see him on my second lap. He smiled again showing his teeth, how did he manage to look good while working out.
When I finished I walked for a little bit to catch my breath. I felt someone tap my shoulder behind me, I turned and it was Daniel. “So you run,” He said a little out of breath. I nodded and said,”So do you.”
“You’re really good”
“You’re not too bad yourself”
“You try out for our school’s team, tryouts are tomorrow”
“I know, I’m trying out”
“Cool, how old are you?”
“Fourteen,what about you?”
“Fifteen. So you’re a freshman”
“Yeah, and you’re a sophmore”
“Don’t worry everyone is really nice”
“Yeah?”
“Well except for the few popular b itches”
He shook his head,”They like me though, they say I looked like Justin Beiber,”Daniel said raising his eyebrow in disbelief. I laughed,”Well you do look like him.” I hadn’t realized it but we were walking home together.”I know,” Daniel said,” I should cut my hair or something.” I laughed, he was really cute,”No you shouldn’t” He raised one eyebrow in the most adorable way,”Why? You like Justin Beiber?” I laughed again,”No, I don’t like that kind of music. I’m no belieber.” He laughed. I said to answer his other question,”No offense, but I don’t think you would look good short hair. He laughed,”I’m offended.” I laughed too.”Haha,I know I look bad.Good thing you didn’t know me when I was in middle school.” He was so easy to talk to. We were already on my street, and I saw my brother flirting with two girls. I purposely bumped into him. I heard one of the girls say,”Whoah, is that your girlfriend or something?” I turned back on her smug little face and said,”No, that my twin brother.” I heard one say “oh” and the other laugh.
Daniel asked,”What was that about?” I replied,”He has a girlfriend, and shes the only one I have ever liked. And, he needs to stop being a manwhore.”He laughed at what I said. He had walked me to my house and I was leaning against my door. “Okay this is weird. I just met you and you already know where I live.” He smile a crooked smile,”Well, don’t you know where I live, too.” I cocked my head to a side,”Actually, I don’t” He kept smiling his crooked smile and said,” I’ll see you tomorrow.” He turned and walked away, I couldn’t have swore he stopped for a second and shook his head.
My brother, Jason, came up,”You didn’t need to do that. I haven’t forgotten about Ashley.” I patted his shoulder,” I thought you need some reminding.”
